-
Pour boiling water into the jar, leaving some space at the top. The wax will melt and float to the surface. Allow the water to cool, and then remove the solidified wax layer.
-
Clean the jar: Wash the jar thoroughly with dish soap and warm water, both inside and out. Use a bottle brush if necessary to clean the inside corners. Rinse the jar with clean water and let it dry completely.
-
Remove any lingering odors: a. Fill the jar halfway with distilled white vinegar and let it sit for a few hours or overnight. b. Rinse the jar with water and let it dry completely. If the smell persists, repeat the process.
-
Inspect the jar: Check for any chips, cracks, or other damage that could compromise the integrity of the jar as a drinking glass. Do not use a damaged jar for drinking.
-
Sterilize the jar: To ensure the jar is fully clean and safe for drinking, sterilize it by placing it in the dishwasher on a high-heat setting.
Once you've completed these steps, your repurposed candle jar is ready to be used as a drinking glass. Enjoy your upcycled creation!
